Support early cycling development.
The North York Moors National Park aspires to be the premier recreational/family cycling destination in the North of the England. Redesigning the kids bike skills area at Sutton Bank National Park Centre to keep it modern, engaging, and encourage repeat visits is a key part to our longer term aims.
The facility, in place for 11 years, is part of the Centre’s cycling offer, attracting families and young riders, from balance bike users to those progressing with pedals. The kid’s skills area is looking a little worn out and could be refreshed with a new design to include new features and resurfacing.
With over 120,000 visitors to the National Park Centre per year, the skills area is one of the most visible and well-used facilities, playing a key role in early cycling development. It also supports popular kids’ time-trial events, drawing up to 70 competitors and families, creating a welcoming community atmosphere.
