Accessibility Statement

In accordance with regulation 8 of the Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations 2018, all public sector websites must provide an accessibility statement.

This accessibility statement applies to the website found at https://nationalparks.co.uk/

This website is run by National Parks Partnerships LLP. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
  • zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

How accessible this website is

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:

  • you cannot modify the line height or spacing of text
  • most older PDF documents, such as Governance documentation, are not fully accessible to screen reader software
  • the colour and contrast of the Interactive Maps found on several pages of this website cannot be modified; however, their standard colours already pass the WCAG AA contrast ratio benchmark
  • We are aware of several “false positive” warnings generated by the WAVE Web Accessibility Evaluation Tools testing software, particularly regarding contrast errors in the header section of the page, including the main navigation on Desktop and the H1 page heading title. Manual evaluation shows that the contrast ratio of text to background of these elements is always (quite significantly) above 4.5:1, surpassing WCAG AA requirements.
