Support a Healthy Circular Economy
The Southwest Peatland Partnership is working with Dartmoor National Park to restore and enhance over 1,000 hectares of priority blanket bog. The restoration of peatland delivers multiple benefits for carbon, biodiversity, and is also increasing local capacity and skills in the restoration work, supporting a healthy circular economy. However, to fully realise these goals, support from corporate partnerships is crucial.
Restoration, often in challenging locations and conditions, occurs from August to March to avoid bird breeding season. The Partnership collaborates with multiple local, regional, and national partners, and seeks to engage with corporate sponsors, local contractors, academics, and the wider community, including school children. This ensures that the restoration work is understood, monitored, and valued, bringing long-term benefits for the environment, climate, and local community.
