Junior Rangers

Empowering Young People

We are seeking a committed corporate partner to help us deliver the Junior Rangers programme in the Peak District National Park, aimed at engaging young people from socially isolated and disadvantaged communities.

This transformative initiative will focus on young people aged 11+, especially those who face challenges such as high absenteeism, social isolation, or come from disadvantaged backgrounds. By providing hands-on outdoor experiences, the programme seeks to inspire these young people, boost their confidence, and deepen their connection to nature.

The programme will include:

  • Targeted Programme: Delivering 6-week sessions for 10 students per session, a total of 24 sessions across four secondary schools.
  • Taster Sessions: Four Junior Ranger taster sessions in schools, engaging 10 young people per session to introduce them to the Junior Ranger experience.
  • Junior Ranger Sessions: 10 full Junior Ranger sessions, with eight young people per session
  • Junior Ranger+ for 16-18-year-olds: Four sessions specifically for older youth, focusing on skill-building, leadership, and nature-based learning for 10 young people per session.
  • Teacher/Youth Leader Training: Two training sessions for teachers/youth leaders (30 individuals) to enable self-guided Junior Ranger sessions, ensuring the legacy of the programme and empowering others to continue the work.
