Girls Do Dartmoor

Empowering Young Women Through Nature

We’re seeking a dedicated corporate partner to help expand Girls Do Dartmoor—a transformative programme that opens the door to nature, confidence, and opportunity for girls who don’t currently see themselves represented in the outdoors.

Building on a successful pilot, this initiative will deliver 8x six-week programmes per year over four years, targeting girls aged 14–15 from disadvantaged backgrounds, helping them build self-esteem and a lasting connection to the unique landscapes and qualities of Dartmoor National Park.

Through engaging outdoor experiences and supported reflection, participants will:

  • Discover the power of nature for wellbeing and resilience
  • Build confidence and self-worth in a safe, supportive environment
  • Explore Dartmoor’s protected landscapes, heritage, and opportunities
  • Develop a sense of belonging and ownership in the National Park

A dedicated Engagement Officer will lead this work, also working within the wider Engagement Team to support Dartmoor Youth Rangers, Nights Under the Stars, and other initiatives to reach young people from underrepresented backgrounds.
