£500,000 directly funding scalable nature restoration projects to address biodiversity challenges at landscape-scale.
The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) UK & Ireland pledged a 5-year commitment to fund pioneering nature restoration projects in the National Parks.
Since 2021 this investment has supported the development of scalable, nature-based solutions to combat climate change and address biodiversity challenges across the fifteen UK National Parks.
This commitment is part of ELC’s broader sustainability efforts, aiming to create meaningful environmental impact and foster sustainable practices within the regions where the company operates.
The UK National Parks span c.10% of the nation’s landmass. These parks are home to critical peatland habitats and essential biodiversity, yet they face immense challenges in restoration.
There is an urgent need for large-scale initiatives to restore natural habitats, protect endangered species, and mitigate against the climate crisis.
As national targets for environmental restoration grow, it’s also imperative to build innovative financing models and partnerships to support these efforts.
In response to these challenges, ELC UK & Ireland became a Founding Partner of Revere, kick-starting innovative nature-based solutions led by a partnership between Palladium and the National Parks.
The initiative aims to unlock private capital to restore critical habitats across the National Parks at scale. Through this partnership, ELC UK & Ireland help fund projects that promote nature recovery, support peatland restoration, and encourage woodland creation across the parks.
This partnership represents a significant step in addressing the UK’s environmental challenges. The £500,000 funding from ELC UK & Ireland serves as a catalyst for large-scale restoration projects, contributing to national efforts to protect and restore ecosystems at risk.
The projects supported by Revere will have a lasting impact on climate resilience, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable land management in the National Parks.
By funding scalable nature restoration projects across the National Parks, the company is contributing to a more sustainable and resilient future. This collaboration showcases how private sector partnerships can be leveraged to restore vital ecosystems, generate new economic opportunities for landowners, and drive systemic change for the environment.
