The collaboration between Sykes Holiday Cottages and all fifteen National Parks aims to promote regenerative tourism, support local communities, and fund vital conservation work across the parks.

In 2024, Sykes Holiday Cottages continued to make significant contributions to the National Parks through a range of environmental and community initiatives. Their efforts included funding the planting of 800 trees in the South Downs National Park and supporting the installation of a solar-powered irrigation system at a tree nursery in Exmoor National Park.
Sykes also helped fund an interactive map that highlights over £7 million worth of nature restoration projects across the National Parks. Additionally, they sponsored our annual National Parks Photography Competition, having done so since 2021, which received over 200 entries. The competition not only celebrated the National Parks natural beauty but promoted the importance of conservation by encouraging visitors to capture and share their experiences. They also joined forces with trundl, a walking app that supported the UK National Park Foundation.
Over the course of this partnership Sykes have backed several impactful projects. These include the creation of bee and butterfly habitats in Northumberland National Park—vital for biodiversity and pollination—and the planting of over 5,000 trees in Eryri National Park to enhance biodiversity and combat climate change. Sykes also supported initiatives in Dartmoor and Bannau Brycheiniog National Parks, with a focus on preserving wildlife and improving natural habitats for future generations.
Beyond environmental efforts, the partnership promotes regenerative travel helps to sustain rural economies and supports local businesses, from independent shops to cafés and restaurants, ensuring National Parks remain vibrant, living landscapes.
