UK National Parks Foundation seeks first two non-executive Trustees to support ambitious next phase of growth
The UK National Parks Foundation has launched a recruitment campaign for two new Trustees as it prepares for an ambitious new phase of development and impact.
The Foundation is seeking to appoint a Trustee Treasurer and a Trustee Governance Expert to join its Board and help guide the charity as it expands its work supporting the UK’s 15 National Parks.
Established in 2019, the UK National Parks Foundation was created to generate funding and support for projects that protect, enhance and connect people with National Parks across the UK. Since its inception, more than £750,000 has been pledged to the Foundation, helping to deliver positive outcomes for nature, climate resilience, communities and public wellbeing.
As the charity develops its future strategy, the Board is looking to strengthen its expertise with the appointment of its first non-executive Trustees.
A pivotal moment for the Foundation
The Foundation is entering a defining period as it seeks to diversify income streams, increase its profile and expand its ability to support National Parks across the UK.
Working alongside National Parks Partnerships (NPP) and the UK’s 15 National Parks, the Foundation has a long-term ambition to grow its fundraising activity and increase support for projects that improve protected landscapes, connect communities with nature and promote greater understanding and enjoyment of National Parks.

Trustee Treasurer
The Foundation is seeking an experienced financial leader to take on the role of Treasurer.
The successful candidate will provide oversight of the charity’s financial affairs, help ensure its long-term financial sustainability and support the development of fundraising, reserves and investment policies. They will work closely with fellow Trustees and NPP officers to monitor financial performance and support strategic growth.
Trustee Governance Expert
The Governance Expert Trustee will help ensure the Foundation maintains the highest standards of charity governance as it grows.
This individual will provide specialist guidance on charity law and governance, oversee compliance with charity regulations across England, Wales and Scotland, support governance reviews and help ensure the Foundation remains a leading example of best practice within the sector.
Who we’re looking for
Both positions would suit individuals with senior-level experience and a passion for the vital role National Parks play.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate experience in areas such as:
- Charity, company or board governance
- Finance, accounting or treasury leadership
- Income generation and fundraising
- Strategic leadership and decision-making
- Working within charitable or public sector organisations
The positions are voluntary, with reasonable expenses covered. Trustees serve an initial two-year term and will contribute to approximately six to eight Board meetings each year, alongside occasional additional support.
